Daniel B. Merlin

Dr. Daniel B. Merlin, Jr., 62, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017. He was born in Hialeah, Florida and is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Patricia Iverson.
Dr. Merlin graduated from high school in Bremen, Kentucky and spent some time working as a D.J. while attending college. He spent more than ten years working in underground coal mines before finishing college classes and enrolling in Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in South Carolina. Dr. Merlin then practiced for ten years in South Carolina before moving to Owensboro where he practiced chiropractic care for twenty years.
Through the years he was active in theatre and had performed with Owensboro Theatre Workshop several times. His creativity was reflected in his drawing ability and photography. He also enjoyed music, gardening, and cooking; but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Dr. Merlin is survived by his significant other of twenty-two years, Jane Lanham; a daughter, Lindsay Merlin Rosillo and husband, Eduardo of Duncan, SC; a son, Daniel Jarrod Merlin of Central City, KY; and grandchildren, Oliver Rosillo, Kaley, Nathaniel and Zachary McMillan, Haley, Jarrod, and Joey Merlin. He also cherished his time with Jane's grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Richard Merlin and wife Pam of Bremen, KY and a nephew, Colton Merlin.
The funeral service will be 2 PM, Monday, May 1, with visitation after 10 AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will be Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army 215 S. Ewing Road, Owensboro, KY 42301.
