Daniel G. Dunbar, II, 78, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born June 18, 1932 to the late Daniel and Zelia Dunbar in Chittenango, N.Y. He retired from Bell South and was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church. He was a Navy Veteran and was a member of the Ensor Masonic Lodge, and Past Patron of Goel #104 Order of Eastern Star. He was past Chieftin of the Scottish Dunbar Clan, a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed Tennessee Sports, genealogy, and was an avid hockey fan.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Carolyn Parker Dunbar; his four children, Daniel Dunbar III of Boulder, CO, Debi (Gary) Gibson of Boulder, Co, Bruce Dunbar of Wesley Chapel, FL, Heather (Brad) Kindschy of Marietta, GA; five grandchildren, Lauren, Bobby, and Chelsea Gibson, Jacob Dunbar and Harper Kindschy; two sisters, Charlotte Kratz of Allentown, PA and Ellen (Carl) Gibson of Knoxville, TN.
Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens, with military honors by VFW Post 696. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, with Eastern Star and Masonic Services at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation on Saturday will begin at 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.
