Dan F. Moody

Dan F. Moody, 79, of Owensboro, died Friday, August 13, 2010, at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 26, 1931 to the late William and Pauline Felix Moody in Daviess County. He was an insurance agent in the Owensboro area for 42 years, retiring in 1998 and was co-owner of Rudd Insurance for many years. He was an outstanding athlete in the late forties at OHS and Center College and was nicknamed (Dangerous Dan). He was a Korean War veteran serving in combat with Air Section of the 7th Infantry Division.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann R. Moody, a brother, William Moody, Three uncles, Earle and Margaret Felix, Wilbur and Lucy Felix, and Charles Felix.

Survivors include his son, Dr. M. David Moody and his wife, Leslie, and granddaughter, Kara, all of Murfreesboro, TN; cousins, Jean Earle Felix of Owensboro, Martha Nebgen of Ohio; nephew and nieces, Roger Dale and Belinda Moody, Judy Moody, and Susan and John Whitaker of NC. Caregiver and best friend, Mavis Robertson and her daughter, Sharon Robertson Bell of Taylorsville, KY.

Service were private at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to Daviess County Animal Control, 2620 Hwy 81, Owensboro, KY 42301. We also wish to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Nursing home for the excellent care received during his four day stay at Hillcrest.
