D. Jean Evans Dukes

Dezester Jean Evans Dukes, 70, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at her home. Born January 29, 1934 in Butler County, Mrs. Dukes was a homemaker and member of the Owensboro Church of Christ. She was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvie Evans and Beulah Henderson Evans, a brother, Jarvis Evans and a sister, Ada Moore.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Jewel Dean Dukes; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Janet Dukes of Owensboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Kenneth Lutz of Evansville; five grandchildren, Danielle Kirk Overfield, Julie Christine Kirk Miller, Amy Dukes, Eric Dukes, and Ashley Dukes; seven great-grandchildren, Kassandra, Juwan, Emily, Tiffani, Kayla, Kaylee, and Andrew; and a brother; Troy Evans of Owensboro; and her caregiver, Valerie Norris.

Funeral services are 11 A.M. Friday, November 12, 2004 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Cherry Grove Cemetery in Weir, Kentucky. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home from 2-8 P.M. on Thursday and after 9 A.M. on Friday.
