Dr. D. E. Doc Draper, 73, of 4407-A Countryside Drive, Owensboro, died Sunday, June 16, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Plymouth Meeting, PA on August 27, 1928 the son of Daniel A. and Gladys Becker Draper. His wife, Jean Weller Draper preceded him in death on April 3, 1987.
Dr. Draper was a practicing dentist, a member of First Baptist Church and Green River Dental Association and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a Shriner, a member of A.G. Hodges Masonic Lodge 297 in Whitesville, Rizpah Temple of Madisonville, Kentucky Dental Association and American Dental Association.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Draper of Frankfort and Cindy Shaw of Tallahassee, FL; two grandchildren; a brother, Franklin J. Draper of Pottstown, PA; and a sister, Jean Buckwalker of Pennsylvania.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Dr. Gary Baldwin and Dr. David Nelson. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002 and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Masonic services are at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
