D. Stuart Cecil

August 1, 1964 — December 3, 2014

D. Stuart Cecil, 50, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his home. He was born August 1, 1964 in Daviess Co., KY. Stuart was the Owner and Operator of Cecil Concrete Co., Inc. for 13 years. Before starting his company, he had worked for Peters Construction Co. from 1984 until 2001. Stuart was a Christian and had been very involved in the Student Outdoor Experience. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed hunting, rebuilding muscle cars, traveling, and was a bourbon connoisseur. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, David Nile Cecil in 2005.

Stuart lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. He loved his kids, family, and his wife with everything he had, everyday. No one who met Stuart, even if only for a brief encounter, left untouched by his charm. His passion, smile, and Christian heart will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving are his wife, Tamara Cecil, a son, Dylon Cecil of Owensboro, a daughter, Annah Cecil of Owensboro, his mother, Margie Cecil of Owensboro, two sisters, Carolyn and husband Brian Hunter of Owensboro and Amy and husband David Payne of Sorgho, nieces and nephews, Andrea Wedding, Jared Payne, and Garret Payne, all of Sorgho, Kelsie Roberts of Owensboro, Addy Keyes, Brantley Keyes, and Kylie Keyes, all of Elizabethtown, and Ursula Marsh of Gatlinburg, TN, and great nieces and nephews, Korbin, Kingston, Brooklynn, and Ileana.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 6, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 8:30 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
