Cynthia L. "Cindy" Evans

Cynthia L. “Cindy” Evans, 77, of Owensboro, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born September 11, 1949 in Daviess County to the late Robert D. Taylor and Dorothy Ray Finley. Cindy was a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College where she received her Master’s degree in Social Work and retired from the State of Kentucky as a social worker. She was a member of Maceo Baptist Church which she loved very much and had taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Cindy enjoyed reading and writing poetry, was a fan of the Arts, loved family gatherings and helping others.

Cindy also was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Darrell Evans on November 5, 2018, grandchildren, Cody Alan Smith and Isabella Hardin, and a sister, Linda Wall.

Surviving are her three children, Sara Goodall of Owensboro, Mari Hardin of Fordsville, and Alan Smith of Morgantown; eight grandchildren, Olivia, Creed , and Jacob Hardin, Abby, Avery, and Elly Goodall, Brittany Hudnall, and Alyssa Turner; numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Lorrie Buchanan (Grady) of Rineyville and Bobbie Sue Taylor of Maceo; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, October 9, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 AM until 1:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
