CWO Maurice F. Hagan, 79, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, August 10, 2006 at his home. Born January 21, 1927 to the late Fred and Marie Hix Hagan, he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer after serving 43 years in the United States Army and Army Reserves and also from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, the American Legion and the Reserve Officers Association. Mr. Hagan was preceded in death by his wife Mary Pat Flanagan Hagan and a brother James A. Hagan.
He is survived by daughters, Judy Hawkins and Debbie (and her husband Donnie) Horton of Owensboro; grandchildren, Heather (and her husband Jason) Estes, Matthew Hawkins and Mandy Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Koger and Caden Estes; brothers, Joseph W. (and Daisey) Hagan of Yuma, AZ, Thomas E. (and Barbara) Hagan of Owensboro, and Donald R. (and Vivian) Hagan of Pierceton, IN; sisters, Lydia Stowers of Owensboro and Patricia (and David) Hill of McCalla, AL.
Services are 11 A.M. Monday, August 14, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes with Father John Meredith officiating followed by entombment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M. Saturday, 2-8 P.M. Sunday, and after 9 A.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 6 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
