Curtis Wayne Wilkerson

Curtis Wayne Wilkerson, 74, of Shawnee Drive, Owensboro, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Beaver Dam Health Care. Curtis was born in Madisonville, Kentucky to the late James T. Sr., and Henrietta Carrie (Galloway) Wilkerson. He grew up in Sacramento, Kentucky and served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was a graduate of Brescia College and retired as a purchasing agent for Owensboro Municipal Utilities after 27 years. He enjoyed gardening and loved to cook. He had also restored some classic automobiles. A brother, James T. Wilkerson Jr. also preceded him in death.
Surviving is his daughter, Kim McDaniel and husband David, grandchildren, Sondra and Ben McDaniel, and three sisters, Linda (Carl) Hayden, Patty Kirk, and Odetta (Bill) Martin, all of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with a memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be private. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
