Curtis J. Rusty Varble, 63, of 2030 Keenland Parkway, Owensboro, died Sunday, January 19, 2003 at his home. He was born in Reed, Kentucky on May 9, 1939 the son of Curtis Brown and Perlee Murphy Varble.
Mr. Varble retired from Truckit Truck Co. after 15 years. He also worked in oil fields for 18 years and enjoyed barbecue. He was a Army veteran and served mostly in Germany.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Margaret Rose Chapman Varble; two sons, Leslie Varble of Owensboro and Curtis Eugene Varble of Chicago; a daughter, Lisa Potts of Owensboro; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Wanda Sue Fullenwieder of Nashville and Bessie Mae Hardy of Henderson.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend James Wedding and Reverend Gardner Varble. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Garden in Henderson. His family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2003 and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
