Curtis H. O'Neal, 75, Sunrise---October 2, 1933Sunset---October 9, 2008.

Curtis was the 8th of 9 children born to the late George Arthur and Annie (Pacey) O'Neal on Oct. 2, 1933 in St. Louis, Mo. Sleep came early morning on Oct. 9, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health System. In Owensboro, Ky. Four brothers, Robert, Raymond, Eugene, and Leonard, and two sisters, Audrey and Lillian preceded him in death.

Curtis was a product of the St. Louis public school system. He attended and graduated from L'Overture Elementary and Vashon High Schools. He served honorably for six years in the United States Air Force. He was a member in good standing of the Mt. Pisgah Masonic Lodge #2. Curtis was an employee of the Liggett and Meyers Tobacco Co. of St. Louis, and relocated to Owensboro, Ky. when the company moved there. He retired with over 36 years of dedicated service with the company whose name changed to the Pinkerton Tobacco Co. and subsequently to Swedish Match.

Curtis was united in holy matrimony to Helen (Shaw) Phillips. From this union, one daughter, Pamela was born. On Sept. 24, 1970, Curtis married Callie Hollingshead in St. Louis. No children were born from this union. Callie preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 2003.

Curtis will be remembered by his daughter, Pamela Phillips of Fairbanks, Alaska, his sister, Evelyn O'Neal of St. Louis, his brother, Maurice O'Neal of Royal Lakes, Il, sisters-in-law, Precious (Wilson) O'Neal, Helen (Watts) O'Neal, Corine Brown, Shirley (Isaac) Weathersby, and brother-in-law, Fred Cole, all of St. Louis, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be 12:00 P.M. Noon, Monday, October 13, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Baptist Church, c/o Rev. Larry D. Lewis, 2311 W. 9th. St., Owensboro, Ky. 42301.
