Curtis "Curt" Calhoun, 30, of Bowling Green, formerly of Owensboro, died Saturday, August 15, 2009, as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born October 10, 1978, to Tom and Jane Higdon Calhoun in Daviess County. He was a 1997 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School, where he was a dedicated member of the band. He was an Electrical Group Leader at NASCO in Bowling Green, was strong in his faith, and was involved in many Bible studies. He enjoyed reading, traveling, particularly driving through the countryside, camping, being outdoors and listening to his music. He also enjoyed drag racing, motorcycle riding and watching the Pittsburg Steelers.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Jane and Gene Strehl of Owensboro, and his father and step-mother, Tom and Dona Calhoun of Owensboro; his sisters, Jill (Matt) Kamer of Louisville, Denice (Charlie) Moore of Owensboro, and his brother, Steven Calhoun of Louisville; his close friend, Rita Taylor of Bowling Green; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; a niece, Lauren Kamer, four nephews, Adam Kamer, Connor, Brandon and Andrew Moore; and a host of friends.
Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, officiated by Father Richard Meredith, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, with prayers at 6:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home. Visitation Wednesday will be after 9:00 AM at the funeral home.
