Cory Alexander Hurm

Cory Alexander Hurm, 23, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2011 . He was born on January 30, 1988 in Daviess Co. and was of the Catholic faith. He began helping with the football team at Catholic High under Coach Lawson during his freshman year. He also helped with the middle school team under Coach Harvey and continued helping with the high school team when Coach John Edge ask him to. The O.C.H.S. football team was Cory's greatest love along with the University of Louisville Cardinals team. He enjoyed staying in contact with his email friends, loved all animals, and even rescued some. He was preceded in death by his Grandma Huey, his beloved Aunt Pooh and Aunt Carolyn, and a cousin, Jarod Thomas.

Surviving are his Mother, Lisa Marie Hurm of Owensboro, his Dad, Sherman "Norgie" Gray of Owensboro, his very special great aunt, Barbara Hurm of Owensboro, aunt Phyllis Scott of Morganfield, and uncle John Hurm of Chicago, his godparents, Jenny Thomas of Bowling Green and Jeff Snyder of Owensboro, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and more friends than he could ever imagine. He also leaves his Catholic football family, more family to him than they would ever know, and his very special cat, Shadow, and another cat named Boo.

Services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September 24 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon Saturday at the funeral home.
