Constance "Connie" Fay McCarthy

Constance “Connie” F. McCarthy, 59, of Owensboro passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Heartford House under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of W. Kentucky. The Daviess County native was born November 4, 1966, to Bobby Pedley and the late Theresa Marie Payne Pedley. Connie graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School with the class of 1984. After a short stint of working in the print shop at the hospital, she became the domestic manager of her household for her husband and eight children. Connie was super organized and a perfectionist and an excellent cook. Her two devotions, her family and her church, were intertwined. She would lead her children in the rosary at home and make sure they attended Mass at every opportunity. Connie was a very devoted Catholic, dedicated to Eucharistic Adoration and the Divine Mercy. She loved babysitting for her grandchildren who affectionately called her Nonnie. Out of love and devotion, her husband of almost 36 years would bring her favorite flowers, roses, almost every week. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who were impacted by her life.

Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Pedley in March and her good friend, Barbara Duncan.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Bob McCarthy; eight children, Andrew McCarthy (Caitlin), Kelsey Greer (Tim), Sarah Blake (Jordan), Megan Vazquez (Antonio), Michael McCarthy, Jonathan McCarthy, Bethany McCarthy, and Catherine McCarthy; five grandchildren, Stevie Greer, Easton Blake, Brynleigh Greer, Tatum Greer, and Riley Blake; three siblings, Rhonda Pedley (Daniel), twin brother, Chuck Pedley (Nannette), and Cathy Pedley; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass for Connie McCarthy will be 10:00 am Tuesday, April 28 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 until 7:00 pm with prayers at 5:30 pm and Tuesday from 8:30 until 9:30 am at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
