Constance "Connie" Sue Coomes

Constance “Connie” Sue Conder Coomes, 75, of Lewisport passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at her home under the care of Hospice. Her loving husband of 55 years was by her side. Connie was born in Whitesville on August 10, 1951, as one of 15 children to the late Joseph “Jody” Conder and Ethel Wright Conder. Connie spent her life caring for her family. She enjoyed quilting, camping, and vacations with her sisters.

In addition to her parents, Connie also was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Rose, Charles, Vince, Louis, Barb, and Doris as well as a great grandchild, Emma Lynn Adkins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert “Bob” Coomes; two daughters, Kandy Turner and Dawn Adkins (Steve) both of Lewisport; five grandchildren who affectionately called her “Nonnie”; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Judy, Mag, Ina, Debbie, David, Hope, Jerry, and Terry; numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Connie Coomes will be 10:00 am Thursday, August 20 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 until 7:00 pm and Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of the service.
