Colleen Faye Jenkins, 87, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at her home while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born August 24, 1938 in Daviess County to the late William and Johnnie Mae Logsdon Conner. Colleen was a member of Bethlehem Methodist Church and retired as a registered nurse with Ohio Valley Surgical Specialists. She also had worked for many years as a nurse at Mercy Hospital in the Emergency Room. Colleen was an avid reader, performer, and U.K. basketball fan. As a teenager, she received a citation for both academic excellence and in “drag racing” from the same “Judge”!! As a mother and grandmother, her table overflowed with home-cooked porkchops, biscuits, spaghetti, and green beans with bacon. At Colleen’s, everybody knew to expect a bottomless supply of sweets, stories, and all the very best of home. Her strength and laughter have sustained family and friends who will never forget her. Colleen was also preceded in death by her husband, Philip H. Jenkins on July 2, 2019.
Surviving are her children, Hope Eans and husband Shane of Owensboro, Zack Jenkins and wife Jen of Chicago, and Kip Dyer and wife Rachel of Tuscumbia, Alabama; six grandchildren, Logan Eans, Keely Eans, Philip Morgan Eans, Kimberly Pidcock, Paden Dyer, and Charlie Jenkins Hubert.
