Clyde Harold Ashley

Clyde Harold Ashley, 79, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation center. He was born May 16, 1931 in Kanawha Co., WV to the late Joseph and Abby Nida Ashley. Mr. Ashley retired from National Southwire, was of the Baptist faith, and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Carte Ashley in 1988 and by his sister, Jane Ashley, and his brothers, Clifford Ashley and Adrian Ashley.

He is survived by three sons, Dickie P. Ashley and his wife Becky, Gary D. Ashley and his close friend Patty, and Clyde H. Ashley, II and his wife Karen, all of Owensboro; three daughters Rita L. Vance and her husband Carl of Hartford, Karen Copeland and her husband Jim of Sacramento, and Linda M. Burke and her husband Matt of Owensboro; his sister, Jean Pauley of Little Sandy, WV; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and his close friend Sherry.

Services are at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
