Cleatus E. Leimbach, 97, of Owensboro, passed away Friday, October 14th, 2016 at Fern Terra. He was born in Chestnut, Illinois to the late Luis and Carrie Leimbach.
Mr. Leimbach was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp.
After thirty-five years of service, Mr. Leimbach retired from the Firestone Corporation where he had served as a district store manager. During his retirement years, he enjoyed working as a realtor in the Indianapolis and Santa Claus, Indiana areas. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and had been very active with Toastmaster's International and the Optimist Clubs.
Mr. Leimbach was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hunt Leimbach and several years later by his wife, Agatha Fike Leimbach, and his brother, Clifford Leimbach.
He is survived by a daughter, Joy Johnson (Jerry) of Owensboro; a son, Michael Leimbach (Catherine) of St. Paul, Minnesota; grandchildren, Tyler Johnson (Meghan) of Owensboro, Logan Johnson ( Jamie), also of Owensboro and Ann Leimbach of St. Paul; great-grandchildren, Ava Johnson and Henry Johnson; and a sister-in-law, Nellie Leimbach.
The funeral service will be at 12 PM Friday, October 21st at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 10 AM until 12 PM. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Garden in Indianapolis.
