Claude Randall Peay, 73, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at his home. He was born May 12, 1936 to the late Claude and Frances Wallace Peay in Butler County. He was a retired farmer, attended Nickel Ridge Holiness Church, and enjoyed cooking, watching UK basketball, working on lawn mowers and being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also liked to hang out with his buddy's, drinking coffee at Hardee's.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Peay.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Joyce Peay; his children, Randy (Darlene) Peay, Joyce (Gary) Stephens, all of Owensboro, Cindy (Carroll) Coppage of Lexington, Brian (Lori) Peay of Owensboro, and Carrisa (Arty) Chamberlain of Utica; ten grandchildren, Bradley Coppage, Stephen Peay, Chad Stephens, Sara Peay, Racheal Peay, Adam Stephens, Lindsey (Nathan) Barnett, Candice Coppage, Nicholas Coppage and Madison Chamberlain; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary (Leslie) Kellems, Pam (Tim) Jewells, Jean (Don) Outlaw, and Carolyn (Larry) Dillon, all of Owensboro, Ray Peay of Evansville.
Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial in Nickel Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday and after 10:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
