Clarion David Nichols, 79, of 801 Danberry St., Owensboro, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born June 12, 1925 to the late Joseph David and Margaret Daugherty Nichols in Hancock County. He was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church, retired from the US Postal Service, was a Navy Veteran of WWII and was a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed cheering for the Louisville Cardinals and fishing.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Nichols, 4-1-1967; one sister, Melba Paris, 1-3-1999; one granddaughter, Sharon Michelle Bellamy, 7-23-1979.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Lucille Allison Nichols; one son, Larry David Nichols and his wife, Cindy of Paducah; one daughter, Paula Goodall and her husband, Michael of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Sara Beth Nichols and Aaron Michael Bellamy; one sister, Ruth Reed of Osgood, IN.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 until 8:00 PM Monday and after 10:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY, 42301.
