Clarence Louis Jackson

Clarence Louis Jackson passed peacefully at home with family on September 13, 2011. He was 88.

Louis is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Cordelia "Corky" Jackson, his parents Prudence Hix Jackson and Frank Jackson, his brother James E. Jackson, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Louis is survived by his daughter, Leigh A. Jackson, son-in-law John Barr IV, grandson Fletcher Barr, and several nieces and nephews.

Louis graduated from Daviess County High School in 1941 where he was class President, played basketball, sang in chorus and played in orchestra. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1943, was a Demolition Specialist and was honorably discharged in 1946. He graduated from the University of Missouri Rolla with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity, Alpha Psi Chapter. Louis retired from Texas Gas Transmission Corporation, then worked as a consultant for many years.

Louis was a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church, the Veterans of Foreign War, and enjoyed dancing with senior citizens' groups and at the VFW. He also enjoyed traveling and meeting new people.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday and after Noon on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
