Clarence William "Bill" Fenwick, 82, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born in Daviess County on August 19, 1936, he was the son of the late Roy Delbert Fenwick and Pauline Hulsey Fenwick Faith. Graduating from Owensboro High School (class of '54), Clarence served his country during the Korean Conflict in the Marines and then with the Marine Reserves and US Army Reserves retiring after 30 years. After his military service, Clarence joined the Owensboro Police Department and retired after 30 years as Sergeant. He was a member of the Southside Church of Christ and a collector-trader of guns. Being a "happy-go-lucky" individual, he could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. Clarence loved attending gun shows and sales swap meets as well as UK and KWC basketball.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Fenwick was also preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Starks Fenwick in 2010.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Jennifer Stinnett and husband Roger of Owensboro; step-sister, Gayle Lauderdale and husband Gary of Isle of Palms, South Carolina; two furry Yorkie grandchildren, Abby and Gibbs and one furry feline, Ziva; several nieces and nephews.
The memorial service for Clarence Fenwick will be 4:00 pm Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 2:00 until time of service.
