Clara Merle Quinn

Clara Merle Quinn, 85, of 248 Redbud Rd., Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at her home. She was born in Hancock Co., Ky. to the late Walter & Alice Hoskins Payne. She was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and had worked for the former Hodges Tobacco Warehouse for many years during the wintertime. She enjoyed raising flowers and a vegetable garden, cooking and canning those vegetables, collecting all types of dolls, ceramics, and crafts, and she also enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends and going to church picnics. She was preceded in death by a son, Leon Quinn on Jan. 10, 2002, a daughter, Marilyn Faye Quinn, a grandson, Steve Quinn on Jan. 14, 1996, and a daughter-in-law, Peggy Lee Quinn on Dec. 5, 1999.

Surviving is her husband of 68 years, Lawrence Quinn, three sons, Wallace and his wife, Ruth Quinn, Tom & wife Darlene Quinn, and Collis Quinn, all of Owensboro, and her daughter, Joyce Vertrees of Owensboro, a brother, Ernest Payne of Hawesville, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 12 Noon Friday, February 18, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday with prayers at 6:00 P.M. and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to either Blessed Mother Catholic Church Building Fund, 601 E. 23rd. St., Owensboro, Ky. 42303 or to Hospice, 723 Harvard Dr., Owensboro, Ky. 42301.
