Clara Strehl Burton

Clara Strehl Burton, 81, of Owensboro, went to be with The Lord on December 28, 2013, at Wellington Parc of Owensboro. She was born on March 13, 1932, in Owensboro, to the late John A. and Edith Fulkerson Strehl. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Hempel.
Clara enjoyed selling real estate through Burton Realty for many years. She was a member of the New Ladies Class of First Baptist Church, PEO, and Junior League of Owensboro.
Clara is survived by her husband of 61 years, Maurice Burton; sons, Dr. Bruce (Charlotte) Burton of Owensboro and Brooks (Susan) Burton of Westerville, OH; grandchildren, David Burton, of New York, NY, Allan Burton, of Houston, TX, Caitlin Burton, of Winston-Salem, NC, Chandler Burton, of Oxford, MS, and Brooks (B.A.) Burton,Jr., of Westerville, OH. Also surviving are brothers, John (Gloria) Strehl, Mike Strehl, and David (Debbie) Strehl, and sisters, Ethel McElwain, Betty Pruden, and Dot (Reyburn) Ford, all of Owensboro.
The Burton family gives special thanks to the staff of Wellington Parc for their exceptional care of Clara during her stay.
The funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Tuesday December 31st, 2013, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday December 30th, 2013, and after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Alzheimer's Association, or Hospice of Western Kentucky.
