Cindy Prater Satterfield

Cindy Prater Satterfield, 56, of Owensboro made her journey to Heaven on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Owensboro, she was the daughter of the late Bro. Ronald J. and Sarah Christine Prater. A 1974 graduate of Owensboro High School, she was a track star and cheerleader. She was a great manager and communicator which led to her success in jobs with ECK Miller Transportation, several other transportation related businesses, and later managing the Prater Family Rental Properties. She was a devoted wife and mother with her proudest role being a wonderful "Grana" to her grandchildren. She never missed sporting events or other activities where she was proud to support her children and grandchildren. Cindy was also a talented musician and singer, formerly a member of the New World Gospel Singers. Her faith was founded in the church her father built and pastored for 53 years, Ridgewood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Wayne Prater in 1993.

Surviving are her husband of 26 years, Bob Satterfield; children, Amy (Chad) Hardin, Amber Satterfield and Adam Satterfield all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Jaxon Hardin, Sarah Hardin, and, to be born in May, Levi Hardin; a brother, Ronald J. Prater, Jr. of Owensboro; her baby, her Teacup Yorkie, Angel; and many loving extended family members and friends..

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Ridgewood Baptist Church with Revs. Franklin Skaggs and Jerry Carter officiating followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
