Cindy Thompson Martin

Cindy Thompson Martin, 64, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at her home. Born here, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Jenny Nichols Thompson. She graduated from Owensboro High School and attended Christian College and the University of Kentucky. A devoted mother, she raised three very active and involved children, driving the crossroads of America to support their many activities. Committed to the well being of her community, she worked as a volunteer with the Junior League of Owensboro, the Hospital Guild which became the Women's Guild, the first McCauley Clinic, and Impact 100. Cindy was an active member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association and a fanatical supporter of UK sports, particularly Wildcat basketball. Her personal enjoyments were reading and playing bridge. She was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children Brian Martin and his wife Debbie of Germantown, TN, Molly Woods and her husband Chris of Nashville, and Jenny Grubb and her husband Jarrod of Murfreesboro; her grandchildren Ashton Martin, Morgan Martin, Tanner Martin, Mary Pearson Woods, William Woods, and Maddy Dare Grubb; her sister Teena Barber, and her brother Tommy Thompson and his wife Judi, all of Owensboro.

The service for Cindy will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
