Christine "Christy" Hagman

Christine "Christy" Hagman, 46, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born November 11, 1969 in Daviess Co., KY. Christy had worked for a number of years as a Social Worker for several Hospices. She was a 1988 graduate of Henderson Co. High School and then attended Eastern Kentucky University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. She later received her Masters Degree in Social Work (M.S.W.) from Widener University in Chester, PA. Christy was of the Catholic faith, had a great sense of humor, loved her work with Hospice, and her cat. She was preceded in death by her mother, Paula Gerteisen in 1993 and an aunt, Sheila Kennedy in 1992.

Surviving are her husband of 12 years, James Allan Hagman, her father, Jordan Gerteisen and wife Mary of Owensboro, two sisters, Amber Chandler and husband Michael of Corydon, KY and Alexa Gerteisen of Owensboro, her mother and father-in-law, Betty and James Hagman of Owensboro, a brother-in-law, Chris Hagman of Owensboro, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 31, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery in Stanley. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 12 Noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
