Christi Kay Henderson

Christi Kay Henderson, 42, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday May 1, 2018 while at Vanderbilt University Hospital. She was born July 14, 1975 in Owensboro, to Danny and Kathi Slaven Roach. Christi was sweet, kind, caring, and a beloved friend to many. She was the kind of girl who very much enjoyed being outside, doing things like riding on motorcycles, going swimming, riding horses with her papaw, and she liked going to hang out at the beach along the Gulf Coast, especially visiting Destin. Christi always made time to completely spoil her niece and nephews. Playing make-up with Abi Jo seemed to be her favorite, and she always made Christi look so beautiful. She also loved spending time with her family at gatherings and cook-outs.

One of the most important things that Christi spent time doing was being with her son Hunter every chance she got, he was her only child and she loved to spoil him rotten. Even though their relationship was mother and son, anyone would have thought they were sister and brother. She loved him so much and would do anything for him. Christi would always be there to play with Hunter when he was younger and was always there for him as he got older.

Christi was preceded in death by her papaw, Henry Roach; her maternal grandparents, Joe and Mary Slaven; and uncles, Joseph Slaven Jr. and Bob Slaven (Doris).

She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Todd Henderson; a son, Hunter Henderson and his fiancée, Anna Lopez; her parents, Danny and Kathi Roach; mother in law, Kay Basham and her husband, Jay; father in law, Bob Henderson and his wife, Sue; a brother, Aaron Roach and his wife, Amy; brother in law and sister in law, Mike Henderson and his wife, January; her grandmother, Mary Ruth Roach; an Aunt, Dana Roach; nieces and nephews, Bailey, Garrett, Abi Jo, Aaden, and Abel; also her beloved best friends, Teresa Payne and her husband, Danny, and their family.

A memorial service will be 7 pm Monday, May 7, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Father Pat Bittel officiating. Visitation will be from 3 pm till the time of service at the funeral home.
