Chester J. ''C.J.'' Wilkey, Jr., 76, of 2159 N. Stratford Dr., Owensboro, died Saturday, August 9, 2003 at The Hearth at Windemere in Fishers, Ind. The Dawson Springs native was retired from General Electric where he worked in Finance for over 30 years; was a member of the Lewis Lane Baptist Church; had volunteered for the United Way, Hospice and as a Junior Achievement Advisor; and was a Navy veteran of World War II. A graduate of Dawson Springs High School, Mr. Wilkey was a player on the first Dawson Springs Basketball Team to go to the State Tournament. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Emogene Wilkey on June 30, 2003.
He is survived by his son Steve Wilkey and daughter-in-law, Connie Wilkey of Fishers, Ind.; two grandchildren, Kylie Wilkey and Connor Wilkey of Fishers, Ind; a brother, Billy Wilkey of Louisville; a sister, Ann Wyant of Marietta, GA.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 11, 2003 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 6-8 P.M. on Monday, August 11 and after 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday.
