Chester H. Ferguson

Chester H. Ferguson, 92, formerly of Masonville, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born September 21, 1915 to the late William Sylvester and Minnie Garrett Ferguson in South Carrolton, Ky. He retired from Owensboro Milling (Grain) Co. after 18 years of service and later spent several years caring for and sitting with the elderly. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy as a fireman and was stationed in Pearl Harbor in 1944-1945. He was a member of Sts. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was an Honorable Ky. Colonel and his favorite pastimes were playing his harmonica, watching Ky. Wildcat basketball, raising a garden, fishing, and being with his family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Pauline S. Ferguson on March 8, 2002, and four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include three sons, Carroll Ferguson and wife Joyce, Ben Harvey Ferguson and wife Doris, and Michael J. Ferguson and wife Nancy, all of Owensboro, a daughter, Lana Rae Crowe of Owensboro, and a former son-in-law, Eugene Crowe of Owensboro, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and all his extended family and friends at Heartland Villa in Lewisport.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 10, at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemtery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be 6:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
