Mr. Chester M. Coburn, age 78 passed away on June 24, 2015 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, he was born on April 3, 1937 in Knott County, KY to the late Chester and Mary Jane (Hall) Coburn.
Chester was a Retired State Police Detective for the State of Kentucky, loved fishing with his brothers, gardening, UK Basketball, tinkering with lawn mowers, but mostly loved spoiling his grandchildren, he also enjoyed family time. He was a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his wife: Dortha "Dot" (Butler) Coburn, son: James Douglas (Toni) Coburn, daughter: Kimberly Lynn Danks (Choy Burcham), son: David Morris Coburn, son: Robert Clayton Coburn (Kelly Castell), son: Daniel Ray (Jeanette) Goodwin, daughter: Julia Ann (Wayne) Cecil, 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one on the way, 1 great-great grandchild, brother: Edgar Gene (Peggy) Coburn, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: James Earl Coburn.
Funeral services will be Saturday June 27, 2015 at 2:00pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastors Glen Armstrong and Pastor David Preston officiating, visitation will be Friday June 26, 2015 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and also after 11:00am Saturday. Burial will take place in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations will be to the Gideon's. Online condolences may be made at glennfuneralhome.com
