Chester Levi Bowlds

May 26, 1915 — February 10, 2003

Chester Levi Bowlds, 87, of Owensboro died Monday, February 10, 2003 at the Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The Ohio County native was retired from the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers Local 37 of Evansville. He was the oldest member of Local 37; enjoyed gardening; and was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Simpson and Linda Bivens of Owensboro; a stepdaughter, Sandy DeLacey of Owensboro; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Marshall Bowlds of Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 11:30 A.M. Thursday, February 13, 2003 at the Glenn Funeral Home with entombment in Rosehill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 P.M. on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 and after 10 A.M. on Thursday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Owensboro Christian Church Building Fund.
