Cheryl Lynn (Couden) Stevens, 50, of Bowling Green and Owensboro, passed away on April 17, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on October 28, 1960 in Daviess Co., Ky. She was a graduate of the Nursing Program at Owensboro Community and Technical College and was currently a registered nurse at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was a member of the Critical Care Nurses Association of Southcentral Kentucky. Cheryl was a very caring and giving person to everyone and was always concerned about her patients for which she took care. She had attended Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church and was a very outgoing person and friend to many. She was an avid reader, loved music and attending concerts with her family, had a passion for cooking, and also loved all types of animals. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald R. Couden on September 10, 2010.
Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Tom Stevens, a son, Joel Stevens of Bowling Green, her mother, Betty Couden of Owensboro, her brother, Daniel Couden and wife Nancy of St. Louis, MO, her mother-in-law, Bettye Barnes of South Elgin, IL, a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Woody and Sonia Stevens of Elgin, IL and Debbie Zavitz of Lexington, and several nieces and nephews, Leslie Couden of St. Augustine, FL, Stephen Couden of Louisville, Reagan, Jared, and Jordan Stevens, all of Morris, IL, Joey O'casio of Elgin, and Ryan Zavitz of Winchester, KY.
Services will be 12 Noon Thursday, April 21, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow in Owensboro memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
