Philpot

Cheryl E. Stephens

Cheryl S. Stephens, 75, of Philpot passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of W. Kentucky. The Daviess County native was born July 12, 1949, to the late William H. Tinius and Myrtle Potts Tinius. Cheryl graduated from Daviess County High School, class of 1967. She began working for Pinkerton Tobacco in 1974 and retired in 2002. Cheryl was a caring spiritual person who was a good listener to find out how she could be of help to you. Being very generous, she was always quick to help anyone, even complete strangers. She could be very protective and loved her family fiercely. Cheryl enjoyed “glamping” and was an avid reader, always interested in current celebrity news. Born with a natural wit, she could be sassy and speak her mind without reservation, letting you know what she was thinking.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three children, Mike Swope (Crystal), Kristie Mc Carty (Binky) both of Philpot, and Shana Johnson (Matt) of Lewisport; five grandchildren, Amber Boehman, Brittany McGahey, Michael Swope (Katya), Braden Johnson (Sydney), and Madison Johnson; eight great grandchildren; brother, Larry Tinius (Meg) also of Philpot; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements for Cheryl Stephens are private. Care by Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
