Charles W. "Dub" Sims, 95, of Heritage Place in Owensboro, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at his residence. He was born October 16, 1921 in Daviess Co. to the late Joseph and Jessie Beaven Sims. Mr. Sims was retired from the W. R. Grace Co. and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Veneda Sims in 1992 and his 2nd wife Dorothy L. Sims.
Surviving are his son, Charles Glenn Sims of Owensboro, his daughter, Sondra Gayle Temple and husband Wyesli of Jeffersonville, IN, stepsons, Larry Whitler of Cincinnati, OH and Elmer Whitler, stepdaughter, Peggy Collignon of Rockport, IN, three grandchildren, Lori (Kary) Thompson of New Albany, IN, Paul Thompson of Louisville, and Skylarr Temple of Jeffersonville, a step granddaughter, Emeri Thompson of New Albany, and four step great grandchildren.
Services will be Noon Thursday, July 6, at St. Stephen Cathedral with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday with prayers at 7:15 P.M. and from 10:00-11:30 A.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
