Charles Stephen Roberts

September 4, 1956 — April 28, 2015

Charles Stephen "Stevie" Roberts, 58, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital from complications of pneumonia. He was born September 4, 1956 at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. At an early age, he began school at the Opportunity Cnter in Owensboro and was the Poster Child for the United Way Campaign in 1968.

Stevie lived most of his life with his parents and was cared for by his family. On February 17, 2015, Stevie began living at the Wendell Foster Campus where he made many friends and touched the hearts of both fellow residents and staff. His family is very grateful for the loving care and kindness shown to Stevie during his time at the Wendell Foster Campus. He always had a hug and a smile for everyone he met. He loved when company came for a visit. Stevie was truly what his mother called him all his life, "her sweet little boy".

God does send angels among us and Stevie was one of them. He has gone to his Heavenly Father for a much needed rest and to join his daddy, William V. Roberts, and brothers, Tommy and Larry. We have the sweetest memories of him to treasure for our life time. We will miss him dearly and thank God for having Stevie in our lives.

He will be sadly missed by his mother, Dorothy Roberts of The Bishop Soenneker Home, his sisters, Betty (Tom) Mahoney of New Albany, IN, Shirley Fulkerson of Owensboro, Mary Jane Guilfoyle of Greensboro, N.C., and Judy (Larry) MaCarty of Knottsville, his brothers, Bill Roberts, Jim (Phyllis) Roberts, Michael (Judy) Roberts, and Paul Roberts, all of Owensboro, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the sweetest little guy we will ever know.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 30, at St. Martin Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Raphael Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday with prayers at 6:00 P.M. and from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wendell Foster Campus for Developmental Disabilities, 825 Triplett St., Owensboro, KY 42303. Online condolences may be placed at www.glennfuneralhome.com.

God's Garden
God looked around his garden and found an empty place
He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest
With the help of his angels, they flew you to your heavenly place
God's Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best
He knew you were suffering, he knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never get well on Earth again
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills too hard to climb
He closed your weary eyelids and whispered 'Peace Be Thine'
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.b
