Charles D. Proctor, 82, of Hartford, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at his home while under the care of Hospice.  He was born July 18, 1941 in Logan County to the late Wilbur and Nora Harrison Proctor.  Charles was a retired construction worker and a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.   He enjoyed working in his yard and raising a vegetable garden.  He also enjoyed wood working, refinishing furniture, and caring for his animals including his cows, chickens, raccoons, and pigeons.

Charles was also preceded in death by his longtime companion, Mary Tucker on May 14, 2020, his sister, Wanda Lou Carnell on August 14, 2023, and a half sister, Linda Proctor.

Surviving are a son, Danny Proctor of Owensboro; two daughters, Dana Alvey and Roxanne Proctor, both of Tell City, Indiana; a stepson, David West (Kim) of Tennessee; a brother, Russell Proctor; eight grandchildren, James D. Proctor. Amber Proctor, Karl Proctor, Mary Devine, Greg Lanham, April Nunn, Andrea Nunn, and David “Lil David” West; and several great and great great grandchildren.

A graveside service with full military honors will be 1 PM Friday, February 16, at Bells Run Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio County.
