Charles E. Petri

Charles E. "Buddy" Petri, Jr., 82, of 7480 Iceland Road, Maceo, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2008 at Harborside Healthcare. He was born in Maceo to the late Charles E. and Georgia Case Petri. He was retired from Green River Steel after 33 years and was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II having served as a Radarman 3rd Class. He was a member of Maceo United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge at Ensor, the Hadi Shrine, the Rizpah Temple, and was a lifetime member of the Good Sam Camping Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, vegetable gardening, raising and showing quarter horses, playing cards, U. K. basketball, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Margery Green Petri, five children, Karol L. Walker of Maceo, Charles E. Petri III and wife Jane of Maceo, Fred A. Petri and wife Becky of Philpot, Judy A. Howe and husband Jeff of Maceo, and Mike W. Petri and wife Darlene of Lewisport, nine grandchildren, Alan W. Petri of Lewisport, , Jennifer A. Thompson of Owensboro, Kimberly D. Walker of Owensboro, Steven A. Petri of Lewisport, Tammy A. Howe of Morganfield, Jason S. Petri of Lewisport, Holli M. Waltrip of Bowling Green, Katie Slaton of Owensboro, and Michelle M. Petri of Lewisport, eight great grandchildren, and a sister, Dorothy Moser of Florida.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 7, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday with Masonic services at 4:00 P.M. and after 8:30 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
