Charles Robert Pence, 66, of Knottsville, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, April 23, 2010, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born July 20, 1943 to the late Robert and Charlesetta Johnson Pence in Daviess County. He was a member of St. William Catholic Church and had retired from Green River Steel. He enjoyed bar-b-queing, coaching softball, camping, playing cornhole and fishing with his family and friends, and was an avid deer hunter.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Benner.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Pence; two daughters, Kim Mattingly, Kelley McDaniel and her husband, Dwight, a son, Kerry Pence and his wife, Julie, all of Knottsville; nine grandchildren, Garrett, Allie, and Issac Mattingly, Cody (Myranda) Lanham, Dylan Lanham, Tristan McDaniel, Quinton, Sarah, and Seth Pence; two sisters, Thelma (Bink) Mattingly, Kathy Pence and (George Hamilton), all of Knottsville, one brother, Jack (Lynn) Pence of Phoenix, AZ; a brother-in-law, Bob Benner of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, at St. William Catholic Church with burial in St. William Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, with prayers at 6:30 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
