Charles Patrick Payne, Jr., 42, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, September 23 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Mr. Payne was born March 7, 1975 in Daviess County to Charles Patrick Payne Sr. and Sharon Barnett Payne. Patrick was a very outgoing and energetic person who graduated from OHS in 1993. He was good at whatever he did as he worked at several factories and carpentry but what he really liked was truck driving and later decided to get his CDL and become an OTR driver. He worked for CRS in Owensboro and other trucking firms and later for US Express. Patrick mostly loved his kids and watching them play sports as well as going to the drag races as well as taking trips, especially to the beach.
Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Garnetta Barnett and paternal grandparents, John and Wanda Payne.
Those left to cherish his memory include his two sons, Nick and Landon Payne and daughter, Madelyn Payne; their mother, Krystal Payne all of Owensboro; father, Charles "Pat" Payne Sr. of San Diego, California; mother, Sharon Barnett Payne of Owensboro; brother, Terry Payne and his wife Tonia also of Owensboro; sister, Shannon Roberts of Little Rock, Arkansas; a multitude of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and counsins.
The service will be noon Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Eddie Duke officiating. Entombment will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Thursday after 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
