Charles William McLaughlin

March 2, 1925 — October 17, 2008

Charles William McLaughlin, 83, of Owensboro passed away Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Hillcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in McLean County on March 2, 1925, Mr. McLaughlin was retired from Whirlpool where he worked for 36 years; was an Army veteran of World War II; and enjoyed watching UK basketball and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby and Jimmy McLaughlin.

Mr. McLaughlin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Ellis McLaughlin; sons, Steve (Tish) McLaughlin of Owensboro and Terrill Ray of Texas; a daughter, Lynda Jeter of Pennsylvania; brothers, Clayborn McLaughlin of Windy Hollow, Elmo (Margie) McLaughlin of Rumsey, and Raymond McLaughlin of Alabama; a sister, Lullabelle Mladenka of Rumsey; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews, and his little buddy, Digger.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home followed by burial in Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Poplar Grove, KY. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday and after 9 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
