Charles E. Maupin, 88, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born August 17, 1927 in Jefferson Co., to the late Charles E. and Nanny Florence Farmer Maupin. Charles was retired after 38 years as a boilermaker with the Boilermakers Union Local #40. He was a member of Good Shepherd Church and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Charles was an avid golfer, bowler, and enjoyed traveling and reading, especially his Bible. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Aline Maupin on June 27, 2000 and a daughter, Laura Kellems on September 27, 2006.
Surviving are two sons, Brett Maupin and wife Denise and John Thurman, all of Owensboro, two daughters, Camille Maupin of Owensboro and Andrea Riggs of Eddyville, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and a brother, Bill Maupin of Louisville.
Services will be Noon Wednesday, December 30, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial in Rosehill Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Boilermaker rites will be at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
