Charles Lewis Lansden

Charles Lewis Lansden, 86, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Wellington Parc. Born in Hopkins County where he lived until 2005 (near Nebo), he was the son of the late William and Nadine Lewis Lansden; was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church; and was a life long farmer and coal miner, retiring from Peabody Coal. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Lansden and a sister at birth.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Martine Hobgood Lansden; children, Lanny (and Gayle) Lansden of Wright, WY, Lonnie (and Rita) Lansden of Charleston, WV and Lisa (and David) Ryan of Owensboro; and grandchildren, Tyler Lansden of Morgantown, WV, Jill Lansden of Huntington, WV, Jennifer Lansden of Charleston, WV, and Amy Ryan of Owensboro.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Tim McGuire officiating followed by burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
