Charles J. Charlie Joe Howard, 64, of Owensboro, died June 18, 2006 at his home. Born in Daviess County to the late Vincent and Charlesetta Howard, he was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral and he retired from Commonwealth Aluminum. In his spare time he enjoyed watching Nascar, collecting coins, playing poker, and he was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Georgia Lindsey and Dorothy Dot Howard.

Survivors include his loving wife, Regina Goodall Howard; his daughter, Mary Alice Hayes; his granddaughter, Tiffani Hayes; his grandsons, Bradley Skaggs, Ronnie Hayes, Jr., and Justin Hayes; his great-granddaughter, Jasmine Hayes, all of Owensboro, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann Howard of Knottsville, Ruthie and Randall Payne, Freda and Rick Rhodes, Nancy and Tommy Greathouse, his brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Nancy Howard, all of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at St. Stephen Cathedral with Father John Vaughan officiating. Burial will immediately follow in St. William Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice.
