Charles Henry Highland

Charles H. Highland Jr., 83, of Calhoun, passed away March 25, 2016 at Riverside Care and Rehab. Born in Basket, KY October 31, 1932 to the late Charles Sr. and Clara Highland, He worked as a farm laborer and for Illinois Department of Transportation for many years and then retired back to his home state In Island, Kentucky. Charles loved fishing and squirrel hunting. He is also preceded in death by two sons, Timothy and Michael Highland, and two son-in-laws, Danny King and Bobbie Hampton.

Charles is survived by daughters, Sandi Grills of Owensboro, Ky, Sheila Hampton of Island Ky., Debbie King of Streator, Il., Clara Hennessy and her husband, Tom of Cabery, Il., Vickie Burgwald and her husband, Craig, of Ottawa, Il.; sons, Jerry Tennant and his wife, Jane, of Michigan, and Bobbie Jo Highland from Minnesota; 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will begin at noon.
