Charles William Hayden

Charles William Hayden, 86, of 276 Hill Bridge Road, Utica, died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born to the late Charles Raphael and Verna Winstead Hayden, Mr. Hayden was a lifelong farmer and founder of Beanland Farms and was very family oriented. He was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Browns Valley, and was a former member of the board of Brescia College, and was named an Honorary Commissioner of Agriculture in 1992.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leona Thompson Hayden in 1970, and by several brothers and sisters, Allene Pirtle, Lucille Hayden, Charles Elmer Hayden, Mary Cecilia Hayden, and Bernadine Durbin.

Mr Hayden is survived by his wife of 36 years, Virgie Lyons ( Phillips ) Hayden, sons Charles Larry Hayden and wife Carol , and Mike Hayden and wife Sue of Utica, daughters Donna Koger and husband Mike of Utica, and Dolores DeVillez and husband Jim of Kuttawa, Kentucky, and step daughters Patricia Henning and husband Richard of Denton , Texas, and Phyllis Miller and husband Tom of St. Louis, Missouri, ten grandchildren, four step-grand children, eight great-grandchildren, and eight step- great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Mike Clark and Fr. Tony Jones officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with prayers at 6:00 pm., and also after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Anthony Catholic Church Building Fund.
