Charles W. Harper, 71, of Owensboro, died Friday, December 4, 2009, at his home. He was born December 17, 1937 to the late Carl and Clara Lanham Harper in Daviess County. He had owned and worked in the restaurant business for most of his life. He was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church, and enjoyed watching sports, being with people, and playing with his animals.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Tichenor, two brothers, Jay and Kenith Harper.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Dorothy Harper; and his 1st wife of 23 years, Esther; his children; Carl, Charles, Catherine, Carol, Carrie, Cynthia and John Harper, Tim, Shane, and Kenneth Harper; 30 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia McCarty and Wanda Henry, and two brothers, Harold and Larry Harper; several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday and after 8:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family of Charles W.
