Charles T. Gardner

Charles T. Gardner, 86, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at his home. He was born June 4, 1931 to the late Phillip Aaron "PA" and Pearly May Gardner in Butler County, KY. Charles served as an MP in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Aleris after 31 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Sue Gardner in 2007; his sister, Margie Finch; his 2 brothers, Harold and Jimmie Gardner.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Gardner (Bobbi Yeckering) of Owensboro; his son, Brent Gardner of Owensboro; his grandchildren, Beth Cummings, Amanda Yeckering and Ashley Yeckering; his great grandchildren, Logan and Kolton Cummings; his sisters, Faye Ward, Edith Jones, Sara Gardner, Sue Hooper, and Doris Martin; his brother, Glenn Gardner; his brother-in-law, Bobby Davenport; his sister-in-law, Wanda Bybee; several nieces and nephews
Graveside service will be 12 noon Monday, January 22, 2018 at Owensboro Memorial Gardens Chapel. The visitation will be 1-5PM Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. There will be no visitation on Monday. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Western Kentucky. The family would like to thank Hospice of Western Kentucky for their caring and compassion during Mr. Gardner's final days.
