Eugene Cameron, 74, of Maceo, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Owensboro on January 6, 1952, Eugene lived a life marked by hard work, humor, loyalty, and devotion to his family and friends. Throughout his career, he worked for American Olean Tile and later served as a supervisor at Valvoline Oil, earning the respect of his coworkers through his dependability, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others.
In 1991, Eugene married the love of his life, Dawn Renee Cameron. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, laughter, and lasting memories.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Eva Delle Morris Cameron; a sister, Sandra Rone; and his beloved dogs, Bobo and Peewee.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn Renee Cameron; his children, Pamela Cameron Dudley, Chris Cameron (Lucy Burk), and Adam Cameron (Nikki); his cherished grandchildren, Coleman, Scott (Savannah), Jordan, Hayden, Parker, and Pricilla; his treasured great-grandchildren, Easton, Koe, Matthew, and Maverick; his sister, Lisa Raley (Tony) of Louisville, Kentucky; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Eugene found joy in the things that mattered most to him. He loved NASCAR, fishing, boating, camping, deer hunting, beagles, and spending time outdoors. He was especially proud to be an AKC Field Champion owner and cherished the friendships and memories he made through the Owensboro Beagle Club.
Those who knew Eugene will remember him as a good-natured instigator who loved aggravating the people closest to him—always with a grin and always out of affection. He was also the kind of man who was always willing to help a friend. His teasing, quick wit, generosity, and unmistakable personality brought laughter and support to many lives and will be deeply missed.
More than anything, Eugene treasured his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, loyalty, and love—a life that will continue to be remembered through the stories his family tells and the smiles that come with them.
The funeral Mass will be at 12:00 PM, Thursday, July 16 at Saints Jospeh and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
