Charles Lindy Colburn, 76, of 1630 Alexander Ave., Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at his home. He was born in McLean Co., Ky. and was a retired self-employed painting contractor. He was a member of Third Baptist Church and a U. S. Navy & Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed playing chess, geneology, working on his computer, photography, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Phillip Colburn on May 27, 1973, and his parents, Alfred Colburn in 1960 and Leola Patrick Colburn in 1978, 5 brothers, Leslie in 1976, Earl in 1994, Wilbert in 1978, Russell in 1985, and Arthur in 1997, and 3 sisters, Daisy Zook in 1980, Winnie Colburn in 1957, and Ruth Tackett in 1982.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Carol Rice Colburn, 2 sons, John C. Colburn of Windsor, Ca. And Jason T. Colburn of Owensboro, 3 daughters, Patricia Colburn Means of Alameda, Ca., Linda S. Seagle of Bowling Green, Ky., and Sandra K. Adams of Lexington, Ky. 9 grandchildren, and 2 half-sisters, Barbara McCoy of Owensboro and Kathy Colburn of Evansville, and a half-brother, Kenny Colburn of Indiana.
Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 13, 2004, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
